As a senior in 2013-14, Magoffin County Hornet Jamie Castle had a lot going on.  She was bringing lots of attention to the high school and its girls’ basketball team.  She led the Magoffin County girls’ basketball program in scoring all four years.

As a senior, Castle led Magoffin county to a perfect regular-season 57th District record, a runner-up finish in the District Tournament, and into the 15th Region Semifinals.

On a personal note, Castle averaged 22 points, three assists, three rebounds, and three steals per game during her senior season.

Castle and Rachel Potter of Pikeville were recognized as 15th Regional Co-Players of the Year in March 2014.

Jamie played in the East-West All-Star game in Bowling Green.  She and Whitley County’s Brandi Smith scored 14 points each, leading the East past the West 81-79.

Jamie Castle chose to continue her basketball career at the collegiate level, staying near home at UPike.
